Hard Drive Replacement

Clicking, freezing, or a drive that won't show up

HomeHard Drive Replacement

Clicking noises, frequent freezing, or a drive that's not detected at all are classic signs of hard drive failure. We diagnose whether it's failing or failed, replace it (with an SSD upgrade if you'd like), and attempt data recovery where possible.

Diagnostics & pricing

Standard or express — your choice

Standard diagnostics are 300 kr incl. VAT (2–4 days), or express for 600 kr incl. VAT (1–2 hours) — with repair and delivery within 24 hours if no special parts need ordering. You get a fixed quote before we start, always.

FAQ

Common questions

Can you transfer data from a failing drive to a new one?
Yes, where the drive is still readable enough to attempt it.
Is an SSD always a direct replacement for a failed HDD?
In most modern laptops yes, though we confirm compatibility for your specific model.
My hard drive is making a clicking noise — what does that mean?
Usually a mechanical failure. Back up what you can immediately and bring it in.
Can you recover my data if the drive has failed?
Often yes, though it depends on the type and severity of the failure. See our data recovery page for more.
Is a "S.M.A.R.T. error" warning serious?
Yes — this is the drive's own health monitoring flagging a real, developing problem. Worth backing up immediately and having it checked, not waiting for it to fail completely.
